Dina Ahava Abramowitz is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor located on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. After working as a therapist and the Managing Director of a group practice for 4 years, Dina opened Ahava Mental Health Counseling. She specializes in relationship challenges, religious conflict, gender and sexuality, and the intersection between these areas which often leads to significant distress including anxiety, obsessive thoughts, compulsive behaviors, and depression.
Dina works in person and virtually with adolescents and adults individually as well as in family and couples settings. Dina strives to create a warm therapeutic environment that promotes support, insight, and change. Using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and a solution-focused approach, Dina aims to empower her clients to address the difficulties they are facing in order to build healthier and more meaningful experiences.
Dina holds a Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Baruch College and a Bachelor’s Degree in Forensic Psychology and Addiction Studies from John Jay College of Criminal Justice.
